Frequently asked questions
Straight answers, no sales talk. If you don't see your question here, reach out on our Support page.
Can my customers see their own utang?
Yes, if you want them to. From any customer's screen you can send them a private link. They open it, type a 4-digit PIN, and see only their own balance and recent entries. It never shows anyone else, there is nothing on the page that leads anywhere, and it is kept out of search engines. If you ever think a link has been passed around, replace it with one tap and the old one stops working. You decide who gets one; nobody has a link unless you send it.
Does Tindly count my stock?
No. It keeps a list of what you sell, and each item is OK, low or out of stock. You mark it low when you see the shelf getting empty, out of stock when it’s gone, and restocked when the delivery arrives. Whatever needs restocking shows on your Today screen, empty shelves first, so you remember what to buy. You never count what’s on the shelf and there are no barcodes. You can give each item a price, like ₱32 a can or ₱49 a kilo, and when a customer takes several things on utang, Tindly adds them up for you. The list starts empty and grows as you add to it. If you name an item on an utang, like Coke or yelo, Tindly offers to put it on the list. It shows you anything similar that’s already there so you don’t end up with two, and it won’t add anything unless you say yes.
Do I need internet to use Tindly?
Yes. Everything is saved to your account online, so you need a signal to add a customer, log utang, or record a payment. A notebook works with no signal, and we know that. But saving online is what lets every phone show the same balance, and it means nothing is lost if your phone breaks or gets replaced. If the connection drops while you’re typing, Tindly tells you and lets you try again. It won’t quietly lose what you typed.
How much mobile data does Tindly use?
Very little. Tindly is text and numbers, no photos or video. A whole day of normal use is less data than one minute of a video. Even on a small data plan, checking it once or twice a day is fine.
Is my customers’ data safe?
Your data sits on secure servers and is encrypted. Only you can sign in and see your customers’ names, numbers and balances. Nobody at Tindly reads it, and we don’t sell it. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what we keep and why.
Can I use Tindly on two phones?
Yes. The licence is yours, not the phone’s. Sign in on as many of your own phones or tablets as you like, and they all show the same list and the same balances. If a phone gets lost, you can remove it from your account settings.
Do SMS reminders cost money?
No. There are two ways to send one. The first is from your own phone. Tindly writes the message, you tap send, and it goes out like any other text, from the number your customer already knows. That's free and there's no limit. The second is to let Tindly send it from its own number, without opening your messaging app. Your licence includes 50 of those, and they cover balance links too. A short message uses one text. A longer one, or one with a ₱ amount in it, uses two. Each store owner you refer adds more (see below). When they're all used, that option stops, and you keep sending from your phone the same as before.
What happens if I stop paying?
Nothing, because there’s nothing to stop paying. You pay once. After that your account and your data stay yours for as long as Tindly is running. There’s no monthly bill.
What if I do not have a smartphone with a modern browser?
Tindly runs in your phone’s browser, so it needs a fairly recent Chrome on Android or Safari on iPhone. Most Android phones from the last few years will work, and so will any iPhone that still gets updates. The Download page has the install steps once you have an account.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 7 days of paying. In the app, go to Settings and tap Request a refund. Or sign in here on tindlyph.com and ask from your account page. Both show until when you can ask. We reply by email within 2 business days, and the money goes back to the e-wallet, bank or card you paid with. You get back what you paid: ₱199, or ₱179 if you bought with a referral discount. If you can't sign in, email us instead. The Refund Policy has the details.
A store owner sent me their Tindly link. Do I pay less?
Yes. Open their link, create your account from there, and buy within 24 hours of signing up: it's ₱179 instead of ₱199. The checkout shows the lower price and how much time is left. It only counts if you create your account in the same browser you opened the link in, within 7 days of opening it. After the 24 hours the price is ₱199.
How do I refer another store owner?
Once you've bought Tindly, open Settings and tap Refer a fellow store owner. You'll find your own link, and ready-made messages in Tagalog or English to send by SMS, Messenger or however you like. When a store owner signs up through your link and buys Tindly, you get +5 SMS and ₱20. It shows on the same screen, with every store owner you've referred and where each one stands.
When do I get my referral reward?
7 days after the store owner you referred pays, once their refund window has closed. If they get a refund, there is no reward for that one; if a refund request is still being decided, the reward waits until it is. You also get bonus texts as you go: +10 SMS at 3, +20 at 5 and +50 at 10 rewarded referrals, then the same again in every 10 after that (13, 15, 20 and so on). Referring yourself, or another account of your own, doesn't count.
How do I get my referral earnings?
Once you have at least ₱100, tap Request payout on the Refer screen and choose GCash, Maya or a bank account. It can be your own or a family member's. We send the whole amount ourselves within 2 business days, and email you when it's sent, with the reference number. If we can't send it, for example because the name doesn't match the account, we tell you why and the amount goes back to your balance so you can ask again.
